Broken Wing (Explore - 5/26/21)
The butterfly appears to be missing a section of its wing.
Butterflies are not that common in our neighborhood and was delighted when I spotted one alight on the blossoms. Viewing the enlarged photo on the computer screen, I noticed that a section of the butterfly's wing was missing. The obvious disadvantage did not prevent the insect from flying in search of nectar. Buffeted by life, humans can sometimes feel emotionally and/or physically "broken," like the butterfly, but we have the innate capacity to persist with hope and courage.
