23 Le Monument aux Morts (Memorial to the victims of war from Lille) France
In 1929, the imposing War Memorial of Edgar Boutry and Jacques Alleman was erected in front of the remains of the Palais Rihour, in memory of the destruction and suffering suffered by Lille during the First World War. It partly hides, when you arrive by the adjoining main square, what remains of the Lille palace of the Dukes of Valois-Burgundy.
