79. The Nelson Monument (Nelson's Column), Trafalgar Square, London WC2, England

A Grade I Listed Building. Wikipedia: Nelson's Column was built to commemorate Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson's decisive victory at the Battle of Trafalgar over the combined French and Spanish navies, during which he lost his life. The monument was finished in 1843 and the four bronze lions around its base were added in 1867. It measures 51.5 m from the bottom of the first step to the tip of the admiral's hat.
