Unimaginable

"You've been stuck here for awhile now."

"I know." she said simply.

"Still planning to stay a long while?"

"Yes..." She trailed, sounding uncertain.

"In this small island? All alone? for days and days...???"

"Looks like it..." she said, sounding more confident.

"But, why?"

"Why not?"

"Because... you are all alone here..."

"I'm not alone. I have a lot of friends here."

"Uhm, seriously? I don't see anyone else."

"Look closely..." she encouraged.

"I still don't see anything!"

"My books, the flowers, the trees, the old baggage, the waves and the wind..." she sighed. "My poetry, my stories, my art and..." she paused.

"And??"

"My imagination." she winked.

"But what about an actual person? A friend? A lover? Your family?"

"Have you ever felt like an unwanted baggage?" she asked.

"No?"

"One day you saw a baggage. It was strong, pretty, a bit worn and torn but still beautiful. You decided to take it along in your journey. But as days pass by, you realize it is just getting heavier and heavier to the point you begin to regret taking it with you. Then one day, you realize you forgot to lift it during one of your stop overs and now it is lost forever..." she waved a hand to herself, "This is me, the lost and unwanted baggage."

"How can that be? You are the kindest and sweetest baggage someone could carry around."

"That's just not enough." she shrugged.

"Sad..."

"Unimaginable sadness." she agreed...
