MG- 's Magna, introduced in 1931, was produced for only two years but it was very popular for its time with 1.250 sold.
Today it is a very rare sports car.
This car integrated many advanced features into its design, including an unusually low chassis and MG-'s first 6 cylinder engine with overhead camshaft, which offered much higher performance and smooth operation than the 4 cylinder M- type Midget.
In the 1930s, this type enjoyed great succes in rally events, and from this period many famous Grand Prix drivers cut their teeth on this F2 Magna.
The F2 Magna's were among the unsung sports machines of their era.
The racing monster possesed a 1.271 cc 6 cylinder SOHC inline engine with twin carburators and had a power output of 97 HP, a very big power for this time and especially for that engine size, while he achieved a top speed of 110 km/h.
It was equiped with 4- wheel wired drum brakes and a part of this is visible next to the right front wheel.
In 2016,. one of these rare models was discovered as a barn find and sold for € 116.00,00 after being restored to its original conditions........
