Rottumeroog, the beautiful................

Very early in the morning we approach the coast of the uninhabited Wadden island of Rottumeroog, the last wilderness in the Netherlands.

You can see the contours of the island on the horizon and right before us the infamous reef "Boschplaat" is drying up.

Many ship was wrecked here during storms.

 

It is quiet and you only can hear the lisping and the grinding of the water that is leaving.

It's drizzling a bit, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the light, the cloudy sky and the desolation of this surroundings.........
