Smashed
Telesmashed, and actually smashed, sorta.
Being a fan of the P42, I was quite pleased with how many I saw in Chicago. My P42 to Charger catch ratio was about 3:1.
Interestingly enough, most of the state run trains I shot (about a dozen or so) were powered by P42’s. I didn’t get a single P40 though for some odd reason. Those tend to evade me quite well.
Anyway, while enjoying some crumbl cookies in La Grange, an eastbound Carl Sandburg train took me by surprise, with, you guessed it, a P42 leader.
These units always have some kind of nose damage, it drives me a bit nuts because it’s not very aesthetically pleasing. Oh well, it’s the railroad.
Also, my condolences to the birds family.
