The Journals of Mi-tew: Day 157

Ord Mantel. Location of Separatists Supplies.

But too me, it was more. While Kie-rahn looked over the Planet's data files created by the Remnant, I noticed that it mentioned that it was believed to be the location of a former Jedi I once knew, Imar Lang, who had left the order in belief that something wasn't right about the Clones and that we should take caution- ironic.

After we landed, I told the team I was heading out to enjoy some time alone. I went out to one of the cantinas, coercing one of the scoundrels there to the location of the Jedi.

I found him, right where the smuggler said he would be, in the outskirts of town, living by a building with an Arc-170 crashed into it.

"Most interesting," he said. "Many moons ago, I received a transmission from Master Shryne. He told me you would be coming." I was surprised at this. He pondered for a minute after I told him about the event of Order 66.

"There is a myth of an ancient dagger, crafted by Darth Bane himself, that held the power to absorb the Dark Side of the force from someone. It is also said the Hand of Bane is in possession of this item, and that their leader uses rituals of sacrifice to gain power."

"But I'm a Jedi. Or was."

"That is the problem. It wouldn't work on you. My theory is that the temple you were inside allowed you to tap into the Dark Side involuntary- it's happened before."

"But what about the Light Side?"

"The Force moves in mysterious ways. I believe it was a side effect of the Dagger. The other possibility, though not in your case, would be you actually tapped fully into the Dark Side, and when the dagger was used on you, you lost it- however, the dagger doesn't make you insensitive, which means-"

"The power is still inside me. I just have to tap into the Light Side."

"Precisely." Suddenly, I felt a hand around my neck- but no one was touching me. I started gasping. As I started to fade out, I heard the sound of a lightsaber and saw a red glow from behind Imar.

I don't know how long it took me to wake up, but I assume it was only a few minutes, as I saw Imar dueling my attacker. I got to my feet, wincing from the headache due to hitting the ground. Imar threw his lightsaber in a spinning motion towards the Sith, but as he did so, I saw a large piece of rubble tumbling toward him, probably by the attacker. I rushed towards him, knocking him out of harms way.

The attacker quickly switched gears, knocking the lightsaber away and extinguishing it.

"Lord Vader will be most pleased with me" the attacker said. "Killing not one, but two Jedi." She advanced towards us. I noticed that Imar was trapped under a piece of the rubble- I hadn't knocked him completely out of harms way. He looked at me, and I saw a mischievous, but grim look in his eyes. He smiled, then used the Force to hurl me across the path, then brought the Arc-170 and the rest of the building upon the Sith. I saw a look of realization to shock right before it fell upon her, crushing her. However, Imar was not able to avoid it.

He sacrificed himself to keep me alive.

I felt shook, barely avoiding death. I took Imar's lightsaber, and set out across town. There I built a monument along an oasis cliffside. I returned to my team, only telling them I got attacked in the streets when they asked why I was so beat up.

I decided then and their that I would try to find as many Jedi I could. If they were alive, I could persuade them to help us. If dead, I would bring their lightsaber back here and add it to the monument towards the victims of Order 66.
