Switching Rockledge
FEC train 915 brings loaded rock gondolas to the yard in Rockledge, FL for unloading. As a bonus, 915 used an SD40-2 rather than the typical GP40-2.
The gondolas come off of train 336 who originates in Medley and brings loaded rock to City Point near Cocoa, FL overnight on weekdays. 336 carries a few loaded gondolas for this location on the head end of the train. Every morning after 336's arrival, 915 comes to take the gondolas to this location. Typically, a GP40-2 or two are the power for this train but today was a different story. The crew of 915 took the trailing SD40-2, FEC 716, off of 336 along with the gons and used it for the day. They would later run to New Smyrna Beach with traffic for the yard and they would end up swapping engine 716 for 714.
