Well I really do hope my contributions and comments on Flickr will be more consistent in 2026. Having now got my garden office ‘christened’ and replaced my ailing 6 year old PC plus sorted out storage of photos I hope I’m more prepared. I still have a hell of a backlog of shoots to go through.
Anyway, not sure if this will be my last posting of 2025 or not but, in case it is, I thought I’d go for this shot that I took from the boardwalk at Saw Mill Pond on the morning after the workshop had finished. A fog warning for the area had been issued the night before but I’ve certainly driven in a thicker fog over here in the UK. I couldn’t pass up the chance to try my luck at the nearby Caddo Lake State Park as during the workshop there had been hardly a trace of mist/fog. Luckily I’d spoken to one of the park attendants the day before to find out how early I could enter and how to pay the entrance fee before anyone was on duty.
This shot was taken towards the end of my visit when the mist had started to clear. The shape of these trees really suit a foggy scene imo.
I’d like to sign off my wishing all of you that follow me, comment on my photos or just view them a very Merry Christmas (sorry I dislike the phrase Happy Christmas for some reason) and hope that you and your families have whatever type of Christmas you want be it busy, spontaneous or quiet. I prefer the quiet type myself. The world is not the happiest of places overall but there is beauty out there and all of us on here try to remind one another of this be it through landscapes, wildlife, street, car. plane etc etc photography. I am sure that if not for photography over the last years my mental state would be a lot worse.
Enjoy the festive period with your family and friends and see you on the other side.
