The Ice Cauldron II
The Cauldron, Glencoe, Scotland
Thanks to everyone who left a fave and/or comment on my previous image from Glencoe - very much appreciated and was a little surprised at the extent of positive feedback. Here is a shot focusing much more on the falls themselves. Having seen it flowing ‘normally’ a number of times I was really surprised at how much of it had frozen. Part of me wished for a little more flow and a little less ice and another part thought how impressive it looked all frozen.
I was very conscious of not wanting to damage the ice for any other Togs that might come along but, surprisingly, I never saw anyone else whilst shooting here. Having seen a number of images from Gavin H. of frozen Canadian waterfalls I always wanted to shoot some myself. The Cauldron is not as epic a waterfall as the ones he’s shot but to me it was impressive and certainly meant I went away very happy to have seen it like this. I did also take some detailed shots of sections of The Cauldron but thought I’d post this one to give you a sense of the overall scene.
