Hanging on in there (2023)
Rowan Tree & Cleat, The Quiraing
Yes I know this iconic Rowan tree has been shot to death but I really don't care!
I shot it in 2022 see www.flickr.com/photos/184798091@N07/52053385765/in/album-... but this time I had in mind a couple of slight variations. These involved getting lower in the gulley which closes off some of the rock face on the right but gives you the opportunity to make the tree more prominent.
I'm still not sure I've found my ideal composition here but this one (and a portrait one I'll post soon) did give me shots I didn't have before. This image is the result of 6 sets of 3 bracketed/focus stacked images. The sunrise was fairly dull and unfortunately the snow from earlier in the week had mostly been washed away by rain but whilst I was taking this set the eastern face of Cleat started to catch some soft light which I liked.
Thanks for taking the time to view and hope you all have nice weekends.
