Fairford, Gloucestershire

The Parish Church of Saint Mary

Fairford is a market town in the English county of Gloucestershire. The town sits on the River Coln in the Cotswold hills, 6 miles east of Cirencester and 9 miles (14 km) north of Swindon. Fairford's parish church is dedicated to St Mary. It is notable for its complete set of 28 medieval stained-glass windows, one of the best-preserved in England. The church was almost completely rebuilt at the end of the 15th century by John Tame, a wealthy local wool merchant.
