Dunes and Stars

A random panorama I shot in Lancelin a few weeks ago, while working on a different project. I was getting bored, had a spare camera sitting idle in my bag, so I moved the car to a small dune near the sandboarding carpark and decided to kill some time capturing what I was seeing at the moment - nothing and everything at the same time. Fine grains of sand carved by tyres and footprints. A place that’s buzzing with people during the day turns into pure solitude at night, with only the stars above to witness the quiet desert calm.

The sky was taken with an astromod camera while the ground was taken with a stock camera but using the same lens - I did have to rotate the tripod slightly for added stability and polar alignment to capture the sky because I was shooting from a steep slope. A total 77 images make this panorama (3 light-painted ground shots were blended into one).
