Selfie Reflections

This was one of those nights when I had zero plans to shoot — the rain had been relentless for days. But I always keep a list of bookmarked spots ready, just in case the weather plays nice.

Earlier that day, I noticed a 3-hour window of clear sky over Lake Ninan — a place I’d just visited recently but hadn't removed from my bookmarked list yet. I didn’t think much of it, assuming the forecast would snap right back to factory setting: clouds and more rain.

But to my surprise, it held up. So before bed, I pulled out all my gear and set my alarm for midnight. By 2 AM, I was standing by the lake under a perfectly clear sky, no wind at all — the water was a flawless mirror again.

So here I am, a few days later, sharing this shot — standing on that glassy lake while messaging my partner, who couldn’t sleep that night.

Another beautiful night under the stars — until the fog rolled in and wrapped everything in dew. Worth every cold, damp second.
