Rising through the ashes
Here’s another shot from my recent trip to Wanagarren—a striking field of grass trees, freshly scorched by a bushfire. This image was captured during a hectic 2-hour window, racing against the clock between nightfall and moonrise (just 1 hour and 45 minutes!).
I managed to pull off a 210° pano and this vertical 1x4 panorama in that short time, keeping exposures to 20 seconds to maximize detail before the moon’s light dominated the sky. While this pano turned out a bit taller than I’d like (thanks to some hasty planning), it still captures the beauty of this landscape.
EXIF
Gear: Nikon D5500 (modded) for the sky, Nikon D5200 for the ground - 24mm f/1.4 - Star Adventurer 2i Pro - Hoya UV/IR cut - Optolong Ha 7nm
Sky: 20 RGB x 20s x 2 panels at f/2.2, 20 Ha x 2 panels x 60s at f/1.4, 24mm
Ground: 2 x 3s, 24mm at f/10
