Pullover

Having had a couple of barren weeks as far as railway photography is concerned, I decided on the spur of the moment yesterday (10 May 2024) to capture a shot of one of the few Class 67 and Mark IV coaches workings west of Cardiff. It was a sunny evening, but by the time my subject arrived brightness was fast disappearing as may be seen from the uploaded image. Transport for Wales' service 1V50, the 16.30 Manchester Piccadilly to Swansea is seen having just breasted the summit at Stormy (circa 3-miles west of Bridgend) and is descending the 1 in 93 gradient to just beyond Pyle. Luck was on my side for a couple of reasons, firstly, the 67 was pulling the train, secondly, the locomotive and carriages are in the black livery and finally, this set now has five carriages,.
