Albertsons fixtures galore
This is looking in just to the right of the main entrance looking toward the left side of the store. Albertsons still owns this building even 2 years after leaving Florida. It's worth noting that some of the fixtures are gone since my last visit in 2017. Could Albertsons still clinging onto this place signify an eventual return to Florida in some fashion? Highly doubtful. They are still closing stores sporadically here and there across the West. The Eastern division is closing its Maryland distribution center. It would take a lot of people demanding Albertsons to come back to Florida for that to happen. And even if there were enough people wanting them back, it would be very difficult for them to compete in this highly saturated Publix market.
In hindsight I'm sure Albertsons is glad they didn't acquire Sprouts. With the departure of Lucky's and Earth Fare, I could see Sprouts also falling victim to the organics chain bloodbath. For the most part we're down to Whole Foods and The Fresh Market, and an occasional Sprouts.
