Above the Treeline
Instead of hiking up or down a mountain and end up with either shaking knees or tremendously aching muscles, last Saturday I opted for a one hour ride up and down on the Brienzer Rothorn Railway. This Steam Railway has been chugging away since 1892. It puffs past Alpine meadows, streams, rocks and through sparse forests above the tree line to the Brienzer Rothorn at 2351 metres above sea level. Its construction was considered a somewhat crazy pioneering effort back in those days, but this very steep ride is definitely a dream come true for every Railway enthusiast! π π π
