Brass Chest & Collectables
I was visiting a friend's house and saw this great old sea chest. He said it belonged to his great, great grandfather and the things on it were from several different generations. The brass cowl with the ships compass inside it (the little round thing attached to the compass cowl is a little candle holder, which casts the candlelight onto the compass), The two powder horns which he said were from the American Revolution (1776-1783), a beautiful pewter bowl that was shaped like a bird's feathered wing and a more modern looking brass ash tray.
