Woodpecker feather on a bone

I was able to identify the distinctive patterning on this feather as being from a woodpecker, however I have no idea what creature the bone came from. The background is an acrylic abstract painting.

I chose a vertical 'portrait' orientation for the photo to correspond with the vertical orientation of the feather, and to visually suggest a large volume of space.
