In 1987 I took this shot while working on a hazardous waste landfill in the Western United States. The landfill, ultimately cleaned up in the 1990's, was a USEPA "Superfund" site. This is what lax environmental regulations can look like. The environment is one of a number of important issues where your voice can be heard by voting in November. Shot was originally taken as a slide with an Olympus point and shoot to document sampling locations (I was wearing the same gear as the crew in the photos). The original slide was digitized in 2013.
