Bursting Into Song

While walking through the neighborhood, I could have sworn I heard a small voice singing. It led me to a Dogwood tree.

There were pink bracts (modified leaves) surrounding the very tiny flowers in the center of one blossom. I studied them carefully.

There I found the source of the music. It was a lovely surprise! I just had to capture this image of the first, fully opened dainty flower. Near the top of the cluster I discovered what appeared to be a small mouth, ready to sing with great gusto!

Nature is grand!
