Living With Unusual House Guests
"Pentatomidae is a family of insects belonging to the order Hemiptera, generally called shield bugs or stink bugs. The American name "stink bug" is specific to the Pentatomidae, and refers to their ability to release a pungent defensive spray when threatened, disturbed, or crushed."...Wikipedia
I started using a macro lens in late 2013. It opened up a whole new world of the smaller life around me. For several years I had noticed these interesting critters as they would often be seen climbing on the walls inside our house once the weather turned colder. Little did I know that stink bugs move into the walls of houses when things get chilly.
Since I've always been interested in things that creep and crawl, I found myself face to face with the insect. With my camera lens moving ever closer, the insect became motionless. What a wonderful way to meet someone face-to-face.
PS...I don't squish the bugs when they appear, but scoop them up in a tissue and place them outside. I do like those little creatures.
