Homage to Georgia O'Keeffe
There is something quite elegant in the simplicity of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings of flowers. O'Keeffe, most famous for her depiction of flowers, made about 200 flower paintings, which by the mid-1920s were large-scale depictions of flowers, as if seen through a magnifying lens. As she stated..."I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore its beauty." I find myself in awe of the folds and gentle curves of magnified flowers, too.
