Filling the Basket

One of the grand things about life is that there is always something new to learn. I had noticed that some bees seemed to be carrying a lump of golden pollen on their rear legs, while other bees had dustings of pollen on both front and rear legs. Thanks to Wikipedia, I now know that the pollen basket or corbicula (plural corbiculae) is part of the tibia on the hind legs of certain species of bees. More information is here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pollen_basket
