Stockente / Mallard - (Anas platyrhynchos)
Seit ca. drei Wochen hatten ein Stockentenpärchen ihre Flitterwochen bei mir im Garten verbracht.
Der Teich diente als Futterquelle und Liebesnest.
Er war war die ganze Zeit sehr wachsam und passte immer auf, das ihr kein Rivale ihr zu nahe kommt. Wenn es doch passierte, ging er zum Angriff über.
Doch seit einer Woche ist seine Liebste weg.
Er kommt trotzdem mehrmals täglich und sucht sie vergebens bei mir im Garten.

For about three weeks, a pair of mallards had spent their honeymoon in my garden.
The pond served as a food source and love nest.
He was very watchful all the time and always made sure that no rival came too close. If it did happen, he went on the attack.
But for a week now, his sweetheart has been gone.
He still comes several times a day and looks for her in vain in my garden.
The poor duck :-)
