During the Hundred Years' War she helped the future French king Charles VII to victory over English + Burgundians at Orléans, escorted Charles to his royal anointing in Reims.
After the battle of Compiègne she was captured in 1430, delivered to the English, condemned. At the age of 19 she was burned at the stake in Rouen.
24 years later, the sentence was annulled, was declared a martyr.
