1914, Edvard Munch, Weeping Nude -- Munch Museum (Oslo)

From the museum label: This painting is unlike other classic nude motifs. The naked body is hidden behind unruly hair. There is a sense of despair in the woman's body language, as she buries her head in her hands. This is Edvard Munch at his most free and untamed as a painter, with his use of broad, heavy brushstrokes in intense red and green tones.
