1879 (ca.), Berthe Morisot, Summer's Day -- National Gallery (London)

From the museum label:

Two women enjoy a boat trip on the lake in the Bois de Boulogne, a large park in the west of Paris, close to Morisot's home. While one woman gazes directly at the viewer, her fellow boater is distracted by ducks.

The women are probably paid models. It is likely that the artist first sketched them in the boat before completing the painting in her studio at home.
