1853, Utagawa Hiroshige (landscape) and Utagawa Kunisada (figures), Snow Scene

From the museum label: From the mid-1840s, Hiroshige collaborated with Kunisada on various print series. Each artist contributed his strength to the designs: Kunisada the figures and Hiroshige the landscapes. Their partnership continued across projects for several different publishers, suggesting that the two artists may have been friends. Kunisada also designed Hiroshige's memorial portrait.
