1502 (ca.), Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino), The Virgin and Blessing Christ Child with St John (the "Diotallevi Madonna") -- Gemäldegalerie (Berlin)
From the museum label: The Diotallevi Madonna, named after its former owner, is one of Raphael's earliest works. Its cool clarity shows its nearness to Raphael's teacher Perugino, to whom it was earlier attributed. But the Christ Child, who blesses the young John with a raised hand, resembles the figures of children from other early works by Raphael such as the Solly Madonna, which is also on display in the Gemäldegalerie.
