1910, Alexei Jawlensky, Red Blossom -- San Diego Museum of Art
From the museum label: By the year 1910, the Russian-born Alexei Jawlensky had moved away from the Post-Impressionist, van Gogh-inspired style of his earlier work and developed a new manner of flattened forms and bright colors. This was partly due to his interest in French Fauvists like Henri Matisse, whose strident use of color influenced Jawlensky.
