1937 (ca.), Alice Neel, Portrait of Mildred Myers Oldden -- San Diego Museum of Art

From the museum label: Neel is among the most important American portraitists of the twentieth century and devoted herself to depicting varied characters who defined their own paths, often outside of society's expectations. Mildred Myers Oldden—pictured with broad shoulder pads and a distinctive striped suit—was affiliated with a small alternative press in New York City before making her home in La Jolla.
