1919, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Maryli (Young Woman with Bouquet of Carnations) -- Los Angeles County Museum of Art
From the museum label: In 1917, following a nervous collapse, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner left Germany for Davos, Switzerland, where he depicted friends and those helping his recuperation. While there, he encouraged the younger Swiss artists Hermann Scherer and Albert Müller to experiment with sculpture. Scherer's Sleeping Woman with Boy and Müller's Standing Figure, on view in this gallery, are the only sculptures by them in an American museum.
