1869, Claude Monet, Still Life with Flowers and Fruit -- Getty Museum (Los Angeles)

From the museum label: The largest and perhaps most beautiful of Monet's still lifes, this painting was executed at Bougival on the Seine River outside of Paris. The results of the Impressionists' experiments in painting in the open air are apparent in the manner in which light breaks up the surfaces of the flowers, fruit, and tablecloth and in the way the colors relate to each other.
