1933, Joan Miró, Painting -- Joan Miró Foundation (Barcelona)
From the museum label: This work is part of a series of 18 paintings that use collage as a starting point. Fragments of advertisements show images of industrial, scientific and domestic-consumption objects. He had cut them out and stuck them to the surface of a piece of paper, creating relationships between the objects. The artist translated these compositions, which he had transformed into organic or anthropomorphic figures, to the painting.
