1506, Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino) (attributed), Ritratto virile (Portrait of a man) -- Pitti Palace (Florence)
From the museum label: This painting was displayed in the Tribuna, Uffizi, in 1704 as the portrait of Martin Luther by Hans Holbein. The sitter was then identified as the Florentine sculptor, painter and goldsmith Andrea del Verrocchio. Later on, similarities were noted to the features of Perugino. The painter is now attributed to Raphael during the early part of his stay in Florence, which lasted from 1504 to 1508.
