1492 (ca.), Pietro Perugino (Pietro Vannucci), The Agony in the Garden -- Uffizi Gallery (Florence)

From the museum label: This painting originally hung in the Gesuati brothers' convent of San Giusto, which stood outside the (now destroyed) city gate of Porta a Pinti. From the sources we learn that it stood on the church's rood screen, forming a triptych with Benedetto da Maiano's Crucifix and a Pietà also by Perugino. When the church was demolished ahead of the siege of Florence in 1529, the picture was moved to the convent of San Giovanni Battista by Porta Romana. It entered the Uffizi in 1919.
