1450 (ca.), Rogier van der Weyden, Deposition in the Sepulchre -- Uffizi Gallery (Florence)
From the museum label: With its painstaking detail, detected under reflectography, this work denotes the influence of the Florentine art the artist came in contact with during his trip to Italy in 1450 for the Jubilee. The painting of this panel is in fact attributed to the same year despite resembling a work by Fra Angelico, now in Munich, that reveals typically Flemish characteristics with a lenticular eye to naturalistic detail.
