1506 (ca.), Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio), Portrait of Guidubaldo da Montefeltro -- Uffizi Gallery (Florence)
From the museum label: The portrait of Guidubaldo da Montefeltro (1472-1508), last Duke of Urbino, was not painted as a companion piece for the portrait of his wife Elisabetta Gonzaga, even if they are more or less coeval. In this instance too, the full-face pose and sophisticated attire underscore the sitter's status. In the background, a window opens out onto the countryside of the Marche. The painting came to Florence in 1631 as part of the dowry of Ferdinando II de' Medici's bride Vittoria della Rovere and entered the Uffizi in 1925.
