1480 (ca.), Hans Memling, Portrait of a man holding a letter -- Uffizi Gallery (Florence)
From the museum label: The identity of the young man in the portrait is unknown; he possibly was a member of the large Florentine community living in Bruges in the late XV century.
The panel was part of the Corsini Collection in Florence and was shipped to Germany during World War II. It returned to Italy thanks to the efforts of Rodolfo Siviero, and was signed to the Uffizi Gallery in 1988.
