1555 (ca.), Tintoretto (Jacopo Robusti) and workshop, The Sacrifice of Isaac -- Uffizi Gallery (Florence)

From the museum label: The diagonal composition accentuates the excitement of the scene, where Isaac appears to be falling off the woodpile as his father, on the verge of sacrificing him, turns around in astonishment towards the angel. Abraham's red mantle is likely to allude to the blood of the son whom God ordered him to sacrifice in order to test his obedience. The cloudy sky is pierced by rare glimmers of light, which only increase the sense of drama. The attribution is controversial and Jacopo's son Domenico may have collaborated, in which case the date should be postponed to the artist's later period, around 1580.
