1505, Piero di Cosimo, Incarnation of Christ Before St. Catherine of Alexandria, St. John the Evangelist, St. Philip Benizi, St. Antoninus the Archbishop, St. Peter and St. Margaret -- Uffizi Gallery (Florence)
From the museum label: This altarpiece, which originally hung in the Tedaldi Chapel in the Servite church of the Santissima Annunziata, has lost its predella. It depicts the mystery of the Incarnation, a theme for which the Servite Order had a special fondness. In the right background we can see the convent of Monte Senario, the Servite Order's first monastery. The altarpiece was bought by Cardinal Leopold de' Medici in 1670 and entered the Uffizi in 1804.
