1880 (ca.), Edouard Manet, Woman with a Cat -- Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) (special exhibition)

From the museum label: This freely painted canvas, most likely unfinished, depicts Manet's wife, Suzanne, in their apartment on the rue de Saint-Pétersbourg. It was one of two of the artist's portraits of his wife that Degas had in his collection. He obtained the painting in 1895 from the dealer Ambroise Vollard in exchange for a pastel.
