1546, Titian (Tiziano Vecellio), Portrait of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese -- Louvre Museum (Paris)

From the museum label: Like his grandfather Pope Paul III, Alessandro Farnese was one of the greatest patrons of the arts and collectors during the Renaissance. Here he is posing for Titian both as a man of the church, wearing the cardinal's biretta (square cap), and as a gentleman, glove in hand. The green of the curtain serves to enhance the bright red of the mozzetta (cape).
