1888, Vincent van Gogh, The Langlois Bridge [ink] -- Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) (special exhibition)
From the museum label: Van Gogh translated the spare elegance he achieved in his last painting of the drawbridge motif (at right) into this pen-and-ink rendition. He included it among a choice selection of drawings sent to his friend Emile Bernard in July, which were otherwise based on more recent canvases from the summer.
