1623 (ca.), Peter Paul Rubens, The triumph of Rome: The youthful emperor Constantine honoring Rome -- Mauritshuis (The Hague)

From the museum label: This is one of twelve sketches for a series of tapestries. Louis XIII, King of France, eventually bought all of them except for this one. In the centre, in red and wearing a Roman helmet, is the city virgin of Rome. Twins Romulus and Remus, who founded the city, are being cared for by a wolf, as in Roman mythology.
