1664, Frans Hals, Regents of the Old Men's Home -- Frans Hals Museum (Haarlem)
From the museum label: The Frans Hals Museum is located in the former 'Oudemannenhuis', a home for men over the age of sixty. In 1664, Hals portrayed its regents, or administrators. Hals's imprecise painting style - characteristic of his late work - was criticized in the nineteenth century: it was thought he had become too old to paint. When Hals made this group portrait, he was over eighty years old. The painting has recently been restored.
