1880, Giuseppe de Nittis, Winter Landscape -- Ashmolean Museum (Oxford)

From the museum label: After studying in Naples, De Nittis moved to Paris in 1868 and became a close associate of Degas and the Impressionists. He frequently made atmospheric studies on small wooden panels outdoors in the new suburbs of Paris, thinly and quickly painted and boldly experimental in composition.
